Fish in Hot and Sour Sauce - Plah Neung Manao ปลานึ่งมะนาว

A mouth watering Thai style steam fish simply because we all love a little spicy in any seafood. Serve the fish with Thai Fragrant white rice and I guarantee everyone can eat up to 3 bowls of rice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole fish (siakap / grouper / snapper / threadfin)
  • 5 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons Fish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped Chilli
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Red spur chilli
  • 5-6 Coriander Leaves

Step by step:

  1. Add fish, lemongrass and galangal to hot steamer rack steam until it's almost cooked.
  2. Combine fish sauce, sugar, chopped garlic and Chilli in the bowl. Mix it well
  3. When the fish is almost cooked, pour the fish liquid out and add the sauce mixture on top of the fish. Cover the lid and cook a little bit more until fish is cooked
  4. When serving, add some coriander leaves, a lime wedge and a thinly sliced spur Chilli as garnish
